Like that word? Digerati? I thought I was being clever but it has it’s own wikipedia entry. “The digerati (or digiterati) are the elite of the computer industry and online communities.”
So who are the online hard hitters for our region? A few I follow include:
@HollyGalbraith – Sydney based but with strong connections to the region. 1693 Twitter followers. Lots of social media related information in between the boozy lunches! Klout score 47
@ByronNewMedia (Deano Power) – Very active locally with social media, currently working closely with Community Engine. 3920 Twitter followers. Klout score 42
@commongroundbb – Really excellent local community hub, very visual with lots of photo sharing and community participation. 602 Twitter followers. Klout score 39
@latinocellar – Recently moved to the Gold Coast from Byron Bay but is a tour de force in the wine world on and offline. Very active on twitter and genuinely nice guy. 2854 twitter followers. Klout score 56
@dnadigital_com – Byron Bay web design company, oh yeh directed by me. Very active twitter, G+ and blog but no Facebook presence. Only on this list because I wrote it. 2232 twitter followers. Klout score 10. (Apparently poo jokes don’t increase your Klout score)
@byronbay – byron-bay.com Active on Facebook and strong local SEO, but not so big on twitter with only 563 followers. High Klout score though of 57.
I’m sure there are more, if you want to out someone as part of the Northern Rivers Digerati, leave their details in the comment section below!
Update: my Klout score went from 10 to 55 in a matter of days after posting this. Hmmm.

Hey there, what about Sarah Wilson and Spell Designs? Both have a great global reputation.
Ha,ha – thanks for thinking of us… looks like we need to monitor klout now too. My take on twitter is that it’s not gone as mainstream here in Australia as it has in USA. I’ll stop in and say hello when I’m next in Ballina.
